K13-Love Foreseen

This October’s Kairos retreat for Confirmation students took place at the John Knox Centre in Grand Saconnex. The students spent three wonderful days getting to know themselves and God better. Kairos is a peer led retreat – this means the majority of the talks and all the small discussion groups are led by some of last year’s Confirmation students. Encouraged and guided by the adult team they put a huge amount of work into training and preparing for these three days.             The result was a transformative experience for all involved. These days of retreat allowed the students to focus on their relationship with God and others and really begin to understand what it means to live as a Catholic...

Year 1 Confirmation SNOW retreat

On March 7th the Year 1 confirmation students came together for a retreat day. We started off in Nyon with a talk on the theme of “Who is Jesus?” led by Fr. Kevin White. We reflected on how he is represented in the Gospels and spoke about how we could develop a relationship with Him and get to know Him in a personal way. After this we celebrated a beautiful Mass together. After a quick packed lunch, we got the train to La Givrine where we were blessed with the perfect depth of untouched snow. We played capture the flag, went sledding and made ‘saint snow sculptures’. We were sustained with hot tea and snacks and hiked back to the...

Online Confirmation Classes

Since the beginning of March, our Confirmation classes have been taking place online on Thursday and Sundays. We have heard teachings on Our Lady, Prayer, the meaning of Suffering and the Paschal Mystery which led to some very interesting small group discussions on these deep themes. We also had an impromptu service challenge on Holy Thursday evening as we tried to follow Jesus’s example by ‘washing the feet’ or serving those we live with. We finish each class with a decade of the rosary for all those affected or suffering in any way due to the Coronavirus. We are grateful for the opportunity to still be able to connect and learn about the faith even if we have to stay...
