Are You Called to be a Member of the Parish Pastoral Council?

Thursday 24th March 18h30 Parish House

Volunteering your time to serve on the Parish Pastoral Council is a generous way to serve our church community and wonderful opportunity to grow in depth of faith as you use your gifts of leadership and prayer for His work at St John XXIII.

I would like you to prayerfully consider joining St John XXIII Pastoral Council. WE NEED YOU! COME & SEE!

The St John’s Parish Pastoral Council, serves as a consultative body to me, the parish priest, to further our parish pastoral mission. John XXIII’S pastoral mission is to create a Catholic community centred on Jesus Christ present in the celebration of the Eucharist; a community that is guided by the Holy Spirit and apostolic teaching and traditions of the universal Catholic Church. The Parish Pastoral Council and the Curé work together to identify and evaluate the pastoral initiatives and policies best suited to grow St John’s pillars of hospitality & welcome, formation, prayer and service.

The ideal Parish Pastoral Council includes a range in age, experience, parish tenure and talent. Candidates should be registered parishioners, faithful Catholics, willing to honour diverse opinions and able to compromise as well as think critically about a variety of issues.

Parish Pastoral Council members are encouraged to learn about these pillars, reflect on them in their own experience as a parishioner, and develop strategies and methods to engage the larger community in a reflection around these pillars and taking responsibility for their implementation.
